THE CHURCH SIGN. qiHE minds of men are coming over to this fact—that something unexplained by human wisdom is taking place in the world. There are forces moving from above and forces moving from below beyond the power of man to control. Some supreme event is at hand. We believe that this event is “Maranatha,” the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that the Holy. Spirit may design to itse this weekly, announcement in causing its readers to believingly search the Scriptures and know God’s thoughts concerning this materialistic age which is fast hastening to its doom. A leading minister of the Gospel recently said to us that the prophet in Malachi, chapter 3, verse 1, was quite correct, but mistaken in verses 2 and 3. On reading the passages over, we are convinced they are phrophecies concerning the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and they will have a complete and literal fulfilment. Seeing that we are jtold that holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost; and that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, does it not seem that for anyone to say of a prophet of God “that he was mistaken,” that such a one is in danger of the sin of blasphemy aginst the Holy Ghost? The proofs of Divine inspiration of the Scriptures, which can be produced are so wonderful as should stagger every honest doubter. Take the thirteenth chapter of the Book of Leviticus as an example. How* comes it that Moses lays down rules dogmatically and talks as if he were a twentieth century physician? We are confident that there is not in all New Zealand a medical man who'could diagnose leprosy in its seven forms as is done in this chapter. How could Moses lay down rules 1400 years before Christ which have been maintained unaltered down to these times, 3300 years after they were written, and which we challenge any physician the world over to say are not absolutely correct and marvellously scientific? To say that Mosbs was inspired of God when he wrote these laws is the only possible explanation Further, the Book of Leviticus, as those can see who have spiritual eyesight, is a< prophecy concerning tne Lord Jesus Christ, which will rise up in condemnation against the unbelieving Jew and Gentile alike in the coming Day of Judgment. “Search, the Scriptures,” said Christ, “for they are they which testify of Me.”
