BOXING.

MATCH IN AMERJCA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received March 18, 11.30 p m. New York, March 18. Mike O'Dowd failed to regain his lost middleweight championship title from Johnny Wilson, the present holder, who last night received the referee’s decision in a fifteen round bout. Wilson’s superiority was sufficiently great to impress the spectators with the improbability of G’Dowd ever recapturing the crown. The bout was fast and interesting, but not spectacular. Wilson received a purse of 40,000 dols. and O’Dowd 20,000 dols. It is recalled that last time Wilson fought in New York his purse was only eleven dollars. —Aus.-N.Z .Cable Assn.
