AUTRIA’S INDUSTRY.

RESTARTING IRON WORKS. By Telegraph.—Pres% Assn.—Copyright. Received March 17, 10.20 p.m. London, March 16. The Daily Chronicle’s Vienna correspondent states that the Stinnes syndicate has purchased 200,000 out of half a million shares in the Alpine Montan Gesellschaft, Austria’s giant iron ore company, from the Italian Fiat Company. The Fiat Company purchased a quarter of a million shares in 1919 but was unable to supply coke for the blast furnaces, so it is now forced to re-sell to the Stinnes group. Re-starting the Alpine furnaces on a full production is of the utmost importance to Austria.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
