REVENGE IN MURDER.
ASSASSIN OF TALAAT PASHA. RETURN FOR HIS PARENTS’ DEATH. By Telegraph.—-Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 17, 10.55 p.m. Berlin, March 16. Solomon Neilirian, aged 24 years, a student, who was horribly mauled as a result of the crowd’s attempt to lynch him after he shot Talaat Pasha (former Premier of Turkey), made a dramatic confession in hospital to the police. He said he had been seeking revenge for ten years. Wfien the boy saw his parents dragged from their home in an Armenian village and brutally killed in his presence at Talaat’s orders, he swore to his dying mother that he would not rest until Talaat was dead. He nourished this hate until the war gay© him an opportunity of fulfilling his mission in life, and he followed Talaat to Constantinople, to Switzerland, and ihence to Berlin. Owing to having no mcrey, and as he only spoke Persian and Armenian, he was for a long time unable to approach his enemy but at last he was successful. He ended the confession: “I am happy now; I have no feeling of re-pentance.”—-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
