LOWGARTH SETTLERS’ PICNIC.

KEENLY CONTESTED SPORTS The annual picnic and Bpnrts at Lowcarth attracted a large attendance on Thursday last in Mr. D. H. Toms’ paddock, kindly lent for the occasion. The pleasure of the ri»itora was enhanced by the performance of the Kitham Highland Pipe Band. The enerrMic committee, of Which Mr. Selr-berger was chairman and Mr. Thrush, secretary, are to be congratulated on the result of their exce.iant arrangements, as are also the ladies for providing free lunch and afternoon tea to all present. Unfortunately, a lad named lUk Fitzgerald fell in the high jump and bad to be taken to the Stratford hospital owing to an arm being Injured.
