FIRE AT DUNEDIN.
MUCH DAMAGE DONE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. A fire broke out in a shop in the Empire Buildings, Princes Street,, occupied by the Dunedin Drapery Supply Co. (H. Simons), resulting in almost the complete destruction of the stock and premises. The adjoining premises, occupied by J. R. Starr (hairdresser) were badly damaged by smoke and water. The fire also penetrated to Adams Bros, (solicitors’ offices) immediately above Simons’ shop, and did some little damage. The buildings are insured for £lO,600 distributed in various offices for £lOOO and £5OO each. Simons had an insurance of £2500 on his stock in the London and Lancashire Office, his value being £3OOO. There is a separate policy for £9OO on his stock of fur coats.
