BREAD SEVENPENCE.
the new prices fixed. £ . FLOUR -AT £2l PER TON. By Telegraph.—Tress Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Government has decided to fix the price of flour on a basis of £2l per ton f.o.b. Lyttelton, Timaru and Oamaru, and to pay a subsidy to the millers of £1 10s per ton on flour manufactured and sold during the year. The price of bran will be £6 per ton f.o.b. southern ports, and pollard £9 per ton f.o.b. southern ports. It is hoped to have an Order-in-Coun-cil fixing the prices passed on Monday, and the new prices will come into operation immediately on the passing of the Order-in-Oouncil. The Government has further decided that the ,cash_over-the-counter price of bread in the South Island shall be 6ld per 21b loaf, and 7d per 21b loaf in the North Island, with an extra halfpenny for delivery and an extra farthing for booking. The existing provision giving the Board of Trade power to vary these prices in remote districts has been maintained.
