M.P’a. TO VISIT INDIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, March 8. Plans for the delegation of the Empire Parliamentary Association which is visiting India in November are being completed. Ten British, six Australians, four New Zealanders, five South Africans, one Newfoundlander and six Canadians will be chosen. —Times. HOLDING AMERICAN WHEAT. Washington, March 8. It is announced that wheat held on the farms on March 1, totalled 207,* 591,000 bushels, or 26 per cent, of the 1920 crop. INDIAN CABLE RATES. Delhi, March 9. Consequent on the falling exchange the Government has increased the cable charges to Europe from one rupee two annas per word, to one rupee four annas. Cable rates to all other contries will be increased on the same basis from April I.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. WAGES ON BRITISH RAILWAYS. London, March 8. Speaking at Cambridge Sir Eric Geddes foreshadowed arf automatic reduction in railway men’s wages of 4s weekly to correspond with the reduced cost of living. He added that it had been suggested that the men 'would dishonor their bargain, but personally he refused to believe it.; The reduction would take £7,000,000 annually off the railway bill. A full* conference of the triple alliance is summoned to disc'Yiss plans to contest the wages reduction. AMERICA AND JAPAN. Tokio, March 9. Commenting on President Harding’s inaugural address the paper Kokutin Shimbun says that America must be willing to make some sacrifice on behalf of the principle of disarmament. The newspapers generally agree concerning Yap that Japan should insist on the mandate, but make a concession with regard to cable communication.— Aus._N.Z. Cable Assn. CUSTOMS CONFERENCE. London, March 9. The Customs Conference agreed upon a form of certificate of origin. Invoice values are subject to reference to the Dominions. It also recommended an extension of the Commonwealth Customs representation now existing between Britain and America to France, Italy, and possibly Switzerland.
