Further particulars of the assassination of Senor Dato (the Premier) show that three men on motor cycles pursued and overtook Senor Date’s motor-car after it left the Senate. They fired 27 Data’s chaffeur rapidly drove to a doctor’s. Senor Dato had many wounds and died en route. His assailants escaped. The attack was the outcome of a Syndicalist plot and was a reprisal, for the suppression of the Barcelona disorders. Extreme Syndicalists regarded Senor Dato as their sworn enemy.
