BRUTAL MURDERS. CRIMiES BY SINN FEINERS. By Tslegraph.—Frew Amu — Copyright. Received March 10, 5.5 p.m. London March 0. Two men were found shot in a country lane at Aughaboy, County Monahan, with cards on their breasts inscribed: “Tried, convicted and executed by the 1.R.A.” One body was identified as that of Francis MePhillips, who lived with his six sisters. MePhillips was taken out of bed at four a.m. and shot by six men. Another youth was found tied to a gate, labelled: “Too young to be shot.” Two ex-army men with excellent war records, who were missing for two days from Thurles, were found in a field a card pinned on their bodies, inscribed: “Spy.” McCabe* Sinn Fein member of the Houke of Commons for Sligo, was arrested disguised as a cattle dealer.—. Ans. and N.Z. Cable Assn. NEW CONFERENCE SUGGESTED London, March 8. Mr. Arthur Vincent, a Southern Irish Unionist and Protestant, and a large landowner, is engaged in London sounding leading men with a view to a fresh effort at a peaceful Irish settlement. He aims at a round table conference on the lines of the fruitless Irish convention, but much smaller, including Sir James Craig, Sir Horace Plunkett, De Valera, and representative bishops. —Aus.-N.Z.
