STOPPING AUSTRALIAN MILLS. By Telegraph.-'Presi Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, March 7. Mr. Quill, secretary of the Millers’ Union, states that nine of 12 flour mills in the metropolis and 75 per cent, in the country have closed down and 700 out of the 1100 members in the State are unemployed. The union has issued a manifesto urging a commission of inquiry from the point of production to the finished article, particularly shedding light on the ramifications of the Australian Wheat Board which, it is alleged, is shrouded in secrecy and by its action in refusing to reduce the price of local wheat is rapidly converting Australia into a mere selling agency for other countries. —Aus.-N.Z.
