TARANAKI SHOW.
OPENS TO-MORROW. RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED. To-morrow will be the opening day of the Taranaki A. and P. Society’s fortysixth annual show at Neifr Plymouth. Everything is in 'perfect order for the fixture. Stock will arrive by all trains to-day and will be drafted to their various accommodation paddocks. The entries received are a record in the history of the society, and never has better quality stock been shown. To-morrow most of the judging will be done. The judging this year will attract more than ordinary attention, as many past champions’ will parade before the judges for his attention and decision. All are showing at their best. Those interested in sheep and pigp will have plenty to interest them, entries in both these sections being exceptionally strong. Horses and ponies will parade in good numbers. Thursday will, as in past years, be People’s Day. The programme for Thursday is to be a very attractive one. At 2 p.m. the grand parade of all prizewinners will be held, followed immediately by the champion hunters’ jumping competition for the £5O prize and challenge cup, the pony jumping, and jumping steeplechase style and the high jump. The New Plymouth Citizens’ Band will be in attendance. The children will be well catered for as there will be side shows galore, a merry-go-round and heaps of other amusements for them.
