SOUTH TARANAKI MATCHES. At Eltham the local eleven defeated Excelsior (Hawera) by 126 runs to 57. Eltham: Bain 36, E. Ccle 26, A. Stewart (not out) 25. In the second innings Eltham lost three /or 58; of which Bain was responsible for 44 (not out). Rivals defeated Manaia by 99 to 75. Riyals : Fogtray 22, Day 22, McGirr 18. Manala : Bairstow 22 and Maunsell 19. McGirr took 4 wickets for 30 and Nielson 2 for 0, whilst Bairstow (4 for 43) was the most successful Manaia trundler. Kaponga scored 84 against Midlands (Hawera) 19. Midlands did better in the second innings, scoring 84, Kaponga losing one wicket for 20.
