meeting at eltham. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Eltham, Ln st Night. A successful amateur tournament was held by the Eltham Boxing Association in the To Hall to-nigl’t, there being a large crowd present The contests 'were well arranged, and some good exhibitions were given. Mr. in Tracey, of Wellington, was tlie referee, and all his decisions were favorably received. The featherweight and juvenile contests consisted of four two-minute rounds, and the other contests of six two-minute rounds. Results: McAsey (Lepperton) 11.9, v. Scott (Wanganui) 11.6% (middleweight). This was the best bout of the -evening, and the verdict went to McAsey after a fairly even contest. Clarrey (Eltham) 10.9. v. Canute (Stratford) 11.0 (catchweight). Canute had the advantage over his opponent in every round ann won comfortably. Fitzsimmons (Matapu) 10.10, v. VS right (Stratford), 10.6 (catchweight). Fitzsimmons had the advantage of height and reach, and the contest was in his favor from the start. In the third round Wright had the tutne to dislocate his shoulder, and the fight was awarded to Fitzsimmons. Humphries (Eltham) 8.10, v. Dudding (Stratford), 8.10 (featherweight). This was a fairly even fight with the advantage slightly in favor of Dudding, who got the verdict. Coombe (Opunake) 8.12, v. Sharrock (Stratford) 9.8, (catchweight). Coombe forced the fighting, but Sharrock stowed himself the better boxer and won. palmer (Eltham) 7.5%, v. McWhirter (Eltham) 7.7, (juvenile bout). Both )ads displayed considerable skill, McWhirter getting the verdict. Featherweight competition.—Cooper (El.then*) 9.U, beat Bell (Xlthiwn) 8.7. ,
