GERMAN TRADE.
NO RESUMPTION WITH AUSTRALIA. / By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright London, March 2. A member of the German Mission infohned the Australian Press Association representative that in view of the critical position of negotiations, he was not prepared to discuss the possibility or the desire for the resumption of trade with Australia. He considered that in order to balance the ledger it was imperative that Germany must build up largely preponderating exports, limiting imports to vital raw materials and necessary foods. He was of opinion that. Germany at present did not want Australian wool. Her factories had obtained large stocks elsewhere. He believed that in the event of the resumptidn of trade the importation of fruits would be discouraged, as they would be classed as luxuries.
