PRISONERS TROUBLE FOLLOWS IN CORK. SOLDIERS MURDERED. Telegraph.— Prats Assn —Copyright. London, Feb. 28. Six condemned men were shot at Cork barracks. They were shot in batches of two. As the bodies fell the chaplains rushed forward and administered extreme unction. Fifty civilians ambushed 15 police who werd proceeding to Mullingar Assizes. Shots were exchanged and two civilians were wounded. Dublin reports that a number of prisoners court - mar tia lied in connection with the murders on November 21 will be executed this week. A large force of police and military occupied the National University buildings in Dublin. Lectures were suspended whiie the students were assembled and searched. Received March i, 8.5 p.m. London. Feb. 1. As an outcome of the Cork executions gunmen attacked soldiers in the streets of Cork, killing five and wounding eleven, while a number of civilians were also wounded. It is rumored in Cork that several toersons recently disappeared. It is believed they were kidnapped, their fate depending on the fate of the six men executed. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn. Received March 1, 8.5 p.m London. March 1. An official report states that the soldiers murdered at Cork last night wer« unarmed. The crowd outside the barracks at Cork during the executions recited prayers, and then dispersed quietly, but the city is excited. • The tension, which increased hourly, culminated at dark in a number of encounters between soldiers and civilians. Two soldiers were killed and six soldiers and several civilians wounded. General Strickland ordered all persons to be indoors at six o’clock in future.—Aus. and JN.Z. Cable Assn. London, Feb. 28. Mr. Lloyd George, in the House of Commons, stated that the Government did not intend to alter the present policy of maintaining order in Ireland. Sir samar Greenwood would be allowed to carry his administration to a successful Conclusion.
