A clear day off in each week and annual leave of 21 davs were decided on by the Christchurch Hospital Board for all nurses in the employ of the board This decision was reached as the result of correspondence with the DirectorGeneral of Health, but it will not be put into force for some time. Mr. F. Korrell said it would require 28 extra nurses to carry out the recommendations. Whereas Christchurch gave one nurse to every two patients, Auckland gave one nurse to three beds.
