BRITAIN’S AIR PLANS.
MORE MONEY TO BE SPENT. NOW CHEAPER TO FLY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Received Feb. 27, 11.5 p.m. London, Feb. 26. The Air Estimates show an advance of £2,000,000 on last year’s figures. The Ministry announces the proposed suspension of the Air Force’s airship service, as its maintenance entailed a diminution of efforts on behalf of services of which the fighting value had been more fully demonstrated. With a view to encouraging development it is proposed to subsidise aerial transport companies to the extent of £60,000. French companies, it is reported, are next week reducing the Paris-London fares to six guineas, and goods to a shilling a pound up to 100 pounds, and thereafter tenpence. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
