NAVAL POLICY?
AMERICA NOT TO STOP. ■ NEW PRESIDENT’S ATTITUDE. A GENERAL AGREEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn .—Copyright. Received Feb. 27, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 26. Mr. W. G. Harding (the Presidentelect) has advised the Senate Republican leaders that he desires adequate appropriations for the Navy, and he favors continuing the present building programme without material reductions. Mr. Harding has not indicated his position regarding Senator Borah’s resolution on the subject of disarmament, a vote on which was blocked this week. It is expected the resolution will die with the expiration of the session, but Senate leaders are of opinion that Mri Harding will favor a reduction of armaments if general agreement among the nations is obtainable.—Aus.-N.Z.
