VARIOUS CASES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 25, At the Police Court two girls. Margaret Metcalfe and Freda Hutchinson, inmates of the Door of Hope, charged with having unlawfully set fire to the building on February 13, were remand- / ed for a week in custody. William David James, storeman, and Walter Strong, carter, for thefts of sugar, were sentenced to three months* and two months’ prison respectively. Walker Bros., bakers, Ellerslie, were fined £2O for selling underweight bread.
