SPORTS GATHERING.

FR ANKLE Y-CARRINGTON ROAD. On Thursday .afternoon there was a revival of the annual sports gathering of the Frankley and Carrington Road district, which lapsed during the war period. Air. W. Adlam's farm, at the corner of the Carrington Road and the cross road to Frankley Road, provided a very pleasant spot for the assembling of a large number of the residents of the district, of all ages. The committee responsible for the organisation consisted of enthusiasts, and the result was an attractive programme of events, for which careful preparations had been made. The ladies’ department, the catering, was attended to with very pleasing results by Mesdames F. Baker, Burkett, Platt, King and H. Fama, and Miss Waldock. Tire executive committee, the members of which carried out a multitude of tasks during the afternoon, consisted of Messrs. L. Gilbert (secretary), A. R. Davis, F. Baker, R. Gilbert, H. Fama, W. Adlam, R. Okey. Valuable assistance was given by Air. Vowless, as starter, Mr. Wadsworth, in securing entries, and Alessrs. J. Burkett and J. Allen, who were in charge of the canteen. Several horse events combining speed and skill added greatly to the interest of the competitive programme. Tllting-the-rlng and a thread-the-needle race were both won by W. Parr. The other principal events resulted as folFoot Races.—Maiden race, E. Blanchard: 220 yards, G. Adlam; 120 yards hurdles, G. Adlam; married ladles, Mrs. Wadsworth; single ladies, Aliss Rene Gilbert; girls under 10, Alice Adlam; under 15, Jessie Adlam; boys under 10, Percy Adlam; under 15, B. Grooby. Vaulting with Pole.—F.
