SINN FEIN PLOT.
THE OIL-WORKS SENSATION. ACCUSED SENT TO PRISON. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb. 20, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 19. At the trial at'Wandsworth of O’Sullivan, charged in connection with the recent plot s to blow up the -Vacuum oilworks at Wandsworth, the accused admitted he went into the Vacuum oilworks for the purpose of setting them on fire. He denied he fired on the police with intent to injure; he aimed high and wide. The object of the outrage was to bring home to the English the seriousness of what was happening in Ireland. Moran, Kenny, and other accused made similar admissions. They said they took revolvers to hold up the night watchman, but they had strict orders not to kill or wound. The prisoners were acquitted on a charge of attempted murder, but were found guilty of arson and conspiracy. O’Sullivan and Moran,were sentenced to eight years and Kenriy to four years’ imprisoment. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
