WELCOMED ON WEST COAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Westport, Last Night. The Prime Minister was met to-day at Inangahua Junction by a large deputation from the Buller Progress League, including the heads of all local bodies in Westport, and he was given a most cordial reception. ‘it. Massey was met by some deputations, including one on the Buller Gorge railway,, and the deputation pressed for the speeiy completion of the line. Later, as the party was coming down the gorge, the Prime Minister was taken into one of the mines just off the roadside, where a coal face 22 feet in thickness was being worked. The Prime Minister remarked: “I must get this railway through.” He regretted that the train was not now running there to bring the coal to the waiting markets. On arrival in Westport, Mr. Massey, with heads of Government departments from Wellington, had a consultation with the Harbor Board, which the Government takes over on April 1. This evening-the Premier was given a gieat ’civic reception, the band and the people turning out in large numbers, and crowding the theatre. Mr. Massey dealt with local and Imperial questions, and at the conclusion he was accorded a most hearty vote of thanks. Mr. Massey leaves for Nelson at 8 *,m. to-agrrow,
