BETTING CHARGE FAILS.
JURY RETURNS “NOT GUILTY” VERDICT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court-to-day, the retrial of Jack Martindale, on a charge of carrying on the business of a bookmaker, took place. The jury, after a retirement of 25 minutes, returned a verdict of “not guilty”.
