SPORTING.
TARANAKI TROTTING CLUB. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Trotting Club was held last night. Present: Messrs. A. W. Webster (in the chair), H. Linn, A. Alexander, M. Jones, C. Fairbrother, R. George, F. Reston, and E Wooldridge. A vote of thanks was passed to the Taranaki Jockey Club for tlie generous loan of their course and appointments, and appreciation was expressed of tte valuable services rendered by Mr. J. Blewman. It 'w-as also resolved to make a donation of £1 IK to the Citizens’ Band. A suh-c.ommittee consisting of Messrs. A. W. Webster, W. C. A'eston, S. G. Smith, M.P., .AF .Tones, and the secretary was set up to meet the Racing Commission on its visit to Taranaki early in March. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the president (Mr. A. W. Webster) for his untiring efforts in the interests of the club. Appreciation was also expressed at the sery’cas tendered by the secretary.
