. Tennis players are reminded that all entries close to-day with the non. secretaries, Messrs. Wynyard and Archer. The< finances of the Patea Harbor .Board were reviewed at Monday’s meeting of the board. The secretary reported that the excess of revenue showed a balance of £931 18s besides interest earned on the old loan sinking fund of J&347 13s lOd. The nonrecurring amount for bank interest of £440 9s 3d on loan account accounted for a portion of the shortage as compared with last year; also pilotage expenses had increased by £lOO, and office expenses, caused principally by all the salaries having been paid out of general account,, whereas a portion should fairly be charged to the interest account for collection of rates. A sum of £3OOO had been advanced to the loan account from the general account. Depreciation amounted to £l*}4. > Loan account: The cost of now works and dredging totalled £97,600. Current investments in Government stocks were £9OOO, and the sinking fund now stood at £11,932 19s sd. The general rates outstanding now for three years amounted to £482 3s lOd, and for the current year £5902 19s Sd. The system of collecting was proving satisfactory. Exports totalled 16,301 tons and imports 13,862 tons.
