SUPREME COURT.
WELLINGTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association Wellington, Last Night. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court were continued to-day, Mr. Justice Chapman presiding. Consideration was given to a case against Edward William Slattery Corliss, who is charged with breaking and entering the dwelling-house of Donald Gillies and stealing jewellery valued, at £53, and £2 10s in cash, After hearing evidence the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and the accused was discharged. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. Auckland, Feb. 8. In the Supreme Court the jury found. Louis Le Brun not guilty on a charge of assault on Mrs. Alice Emery, the parties being vaudeville artists. Mrs. Emery was injured, she alleged, by a blow struck by accused at Fuller’s Opera House on November 24. The defence was that the injuries were caused by falling.
