JAPAN’S ALLIES.

THE POSITION OF BRITAIN. NO HOSTILITY TO AMERICA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Feb, 7, 7.35 p.m. Tokio, Feb. 7. The Japanese Foreign Office has not objected to Britain’s refusal to co-op-erate against America, ns Japan has not contemplated hostility against America. Japan is willing to enter into a triplice comprising Britain, America and Japan, but America refuses all alliances. Japan therefore makes the British alliance and the American rapprochment the guiding principles of her foreign policy. The Foreign Office stigmatises as false a newspaper assertion that Japan has been deceived during the past seven years because she was relying on British support against America. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable- Assn.
