THE COAL OUTLOOK.
KAITANGATA STILL IDLE. FULL WORK ' ELSEWHERE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.’ Wellington, Last Night. A fresh development has arisen in the mining dispute. Some days ago difficulty arose at the Kaitangata coalmine between the mineowners and the Miners’ Union. The latter made a demand, upon the company that it should be responsible jfor the collection of certain debts owing to the union, but the employers declined to undertake responsibility in the matter, which was purelv a union one. It is stated that ’the employers w'ill insist that until the difficulty is settled they will not allow their representatives to appear at the sitting of the committee which was set up to inquire into the alleged victimisation of Henderson. They consider that since the committee was set up for the specific purpose of discussing. the Blackball dispute it is hot concerned with, the dispute at Kaitangata. The sitting of the committee is dependent on the stipulation in the agreement arrived at before the Prime Minister that operations should, be continued for at least a week before a meeting is called. From advice received in Wellington it appears that the normal output has been resumed at all the coal mines except Kaitangata,
