LIFE OF VARIED ACTIVITY. LEADER OF SOCIETY. London, Jan. 18. The Prince of Wales has thoroughly settled down to London life. He is greatly enjoying the wide scope of activity which' has come to him since his return from Australia. He is attending many public engagements and giving his patronage to a wider field of funds and public movements, including scientific, than any other previous heirs to the throne. An interesting phase of his life at present is bis frequent meeting with “Wise men of the Empire,’ including members of the Cabinet and leading politicians, scientists, and the elder men , of Fleet Street. The Prince takes his pleasures strenuously. He is hunting a great deal, using kangaroo skin saddles made in Melbourne. He is keeping his horses at a friend’s stables in North Hants, from which place he is able to reach the hunting country of five packs. He has taken his place as the undisputed leader lof society, dancing and entertaining with frequency. Kinlark, the steeplechaser presented to the Prince in Australia, is now in North Hants, being The Prince hopes to hunt , him this season. Most of the presents and addresses which he received in Australia and New Zealand will shortly be publicly exhibii ted at the Imperial Institute. The Prince is publishing e. bonk of photo- : graphs taken during his tour includin ’ i amateur snapshots. The proceeds will ■ co t"' St. Dunstan’s Hospital for the ' Blind. The Prince has received a great ; number of Christmas and New Tear i cards from Australia and New Zealand, and he recret" that he is ’mable to reply to each individual sender.
