SIGNS OF CHRIST’S COMING. THE CHURCH SIGN. “0, the depths of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” —Romans, XT., 33. Our esteemed brother, the Rev. B. Hutson, of Wanganui, paid a. short visit last week to Katana to investigate the work of healing reported to have been done by the instrumentality of Tahu Ratana. Mr. Hdtson authorises us to state that he was profoundly impressed with all he saw and (heard of this wonderful work of God. We understand that Ratana sees each person individually who requires healing, and merely urges the exercise of faith in the Divine God. We are told that stocks of Bibles are being exhausted by the last sales to the Maoris. Is this not a remarkable sign of the times? God is evidently revealing Himself to the Maori race and is passing by our European which has a form of Godliness, but denies the power thereof. We remember many years ago being impressed with the wonderful work of God which he commenced through the late George Muller. We have before us the eightyfirst report of this work. We. ask ourselves why did God choose a German of no marked personality or special gift to set forth a work of faith in England, which has been an inspiration to many others, and a work which, we believe, will continue to flourish till Christ comes? The total amount of money received Isince Mr. Muller began the work up to last year, now exceeds £2,188,000. Commenting on this the report says:—“Will the reader please note that all this great amount has come to the institution without any appeal being made to man, woman, or child for help; to God’s ear alone, daily and oftiraes in a day, the needs are detailed.” The reasons which led Mr Muller to establish an Orphan Home was that it might be a visible proof that our God and Father (the God of the Bible) is the same faithful God as ever He was; as willing as ever “to prove Himself to be the living God” in our day as formerlv, to all who put their trust in Him.” George Muller was a strong believer in the doctrine of the Lord’s second coming, as we have tried to set it forth in this column week by week. The continuance of the shipping strike in Sydney leaves us not a little in doubt as to whether Mr. Lamb may be able to come over to our Prophetic Conference next month.
