At a rugby referees’ meeting, Mr. Brooks, a New Zealander, scouted re* ports that the Northern Union game would oust the Rugby Union game in New Zealand. The reverse, he declared, would be. the case. No portion of the Empire was more loyal to the rugby game than New Zealand, and it had the firmest hold upon all players of football, from the yo.ungest up.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
