AMERICAN NAVAL BUDGET.
APPROPRIATIONS REDUCED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Washington, Feb. 1. The Naval Appropriations Bill, which is about to be reported to the House, totals approximately 395 million dollars, a reduction of 38 millions compared with last year. The members of the committee think the appropriation will necessitate a reduction in the navy’s enlisted personnel from 153,000 to 100,000, but will permit the continuation of building at the same rate as last year.—Aus.N.Z.
