GIFTS FOR EDUCATION.
FROM ROCKEFELLER’S MILLIONS. By Telegraph.'—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Feb. 1. It' is announced that Mr. Rockefeller, during the past year, has donated seventy million dollars, besides his usual appropriations, to the General Education Board to promote education in the United States without distinction as to race, sex or creed. Fifty millions will be devoted to assist colleges and universities and to increase teachers’ salaries, and twenty millions to improve medical edu-cation.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
