MANAIA FIXES SATURDAY. Saturday half-holiday will come into force in Manaia on March 1, the Town Board having decided in favor of this day. At a special meeting on Monday night it was moved by Councillors Cbrjstie and Edwards that Saturday be the half-holiday. Councillors Moldon and Innes moved as an amendment that Wednesday be the half-holiday. A petition from most of the business people of Manaiir was presented and favored Saturday. On a division being taken the resolution for Saturday was carried. For the resolption: Coancilolrs Christie, Edwards, Hickey, and Nielson. Against: Councillors Craig, Meldon, Innes. —Hawera Star. The Saturday Half-holiday Association are getting to work with vigor. They already have requisitions in circulation for the purpose of securing a poll.—Eltham Argus.
