TARANAKI AUTUMN MEETING. (Notes by "Moturoa.”) The Taranaki Jockey Club’s meeting, which takes place to-morrow and Thursday, prftn:scs to provide excellent sport, the contestants being from the leading New Zealand stables, in addition to the strong Taranaki contingent. Special trains have been arranged for from all parts, and judging by the demand for accommodation, attendances should be very large. Fields to-morrow promise to be good all round, and racing most interesting. Mr. C. O’Connor will preside at the starting barrier, and Mr. .1. R. L. Stanford will be in the judge’s box. Mr. H. Coyle’s weights, as usual, offer a wide field for speculation. Given fine weather the gathering should be a record one.

Tl:e Taranaki Cup has attracted half a dozen good horses, of which Surveyor, Volo, Marqueteur 'and 80-peep will all be strongly supported. Silver Link, Solfanello, Blackmail and Income are much discussed candidates in the Flying Handicap, and in the minor events Te Toa, Kipling, Simonides, Truthful, Oranga, Lord Ashlea, Malingerer, and Canzonet will all have friends. The following horses remain in the Seventh Taranaki Stakes, of 500 sovs, six furlongs, to be decided on Thursday.—Silver Link, Aotearoa, Master Curran, Egmont Park, Gloaming, Rossini, Stork, Passin’ Through, Strategy, Affectation.
