TAKAPUNA RACES. THE CONCLUDING DAY. LANDSLIDE WINS AGAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Jan.' 29. The Takapuna Jockey Club's summer meeting was concluded to-day. The weather was fine and there was a record attendance. The totallsator handled £88,317, which gave a grand total of £144,644 for the meeting, an increase of £11,377 compared with last year. Results:— MOANA HANDICAP.—KhubIai Khan (Rennie) 1, Wanigan 2, Sylvan 3. Also started: Illumination, Penona, Jolly Princess, Lord Bruce, Jaffna, Treso, Kitlanc, Princesa Charming, Marble Glass, Impudence, Lady Rouge, K.'.llott, Sam. Won by a neck, half a length between second and third. Time, Imin. 29 3-ssec. TAKAPUNA HURDLES.—Maori Tlkanga (Warner) 1, Shell Shock 2, General Raven 3. JOCKEY CLUB HANDlCAP.—Landslide (R. Reed) 1, Royal Abbey 2, Gatherer 3. Also started: Rockfield, Mangamahoe, Walton, Scrap o' Paper, Canowindra, Landortk. Gatherer led until they reached tho home turn, where Royal Abbey took command. In the run up the straight Landslide challenged, and the Australian-bred gelding, cutting down Royal Abbey a few strides from /the post, won by half a reck. Time, 2min. *l2 2-ssec. Downing, ridirfg Mangamahoe, was unseated when the field had covered about two furlongs, and he had to receive medical attention. The Stewards held an Inquiry into the occurrence, and Wiggins, the rider of Canowipdra/ was severely censured for careless riding. CANTERBURY RACES. FIRST DAY’S RESULTS. Christchurch, Jan. 29. The Canterbury Jockey -Club’s summer meeting opened to-day. The attendance was affected by heavy rain, and the course was very heavy.
