Moss, solicitor, waii present and explained seveta! legal aspects of the matter, but ex^Te- -c ed a doubt as to whether the Boiovgli Council could reverse its decision fixing Saturday as the halfholiday, if a copy of the resolution had already been sent to Wellington to be gazetted. Considerable discussion took place and finally it was decided to continue to canvass for signatures to the petition asking the council to retain the Thursdav half-holiday until a poll was held in April, and further, to circulate another petition requesting the council to order a poll of the burgesses on the question.
