BUSY AT THE PORT.
ALL THE BERTHS OCCUPIED ANOTHER LINER ON SUNDAY. There was a good deal of activity at tfie port of New Plymouth yesterday, when there were three vessels the liner Wangaratta, the Flora, and the Rarawa. In the stream awaiting berthage accommodation were the West Mahwah and the Kamona. The congestion was relieved with the sailing of the Wangaratta in the evening, and the berth was taken by the West Mahwah. This vessel will be in port over the week end. The Kamona is awaiting berthage and will come in to-day when the Flora sails. She has 1400 tons of cement to discharge. Two more will bo seeking berthage .this week, as the Corinna is due from South to-day, and on Friday the Rarawa will arrive on the usual trip from Onehunga. Following close on will be the liner Kumara, which was due to leave Newcastle yesterday for New Plymouth to commence Homeward ‘.fading. She should arrive here abodt Sunday afternoon or Monday morning. As the West Mahwah will probably be still in port the congestion of thte week, when an overseas boat was kept waiting in the stream for berthage, seems likely to be repeated. After her stay here the Kumara proceeds to Wanganui and Wellington and is scheduled to sail for London, via Panama, about the middle of next month.
