Jan< 24—West Mahwah, s.s. (6.30 a.m.), 5586 tons, Cullen, from San Francisco via Wellington. IN PORT. Wangaratta, s.s. Flora, s.s. West Mahwah, s.s. Kamona, s.s. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Rarawa, from Onehunga, to-day. Corinna, from Dunedin, Thursday. Kumara, from Australia, this month. Kaiapoi, from Melbourne, next month., THE RARAWA. The Rarawa is due to arrive from Onehunga at 5.30 this morning with passengers and cargo. Owing to the congestion at the port it will be necessary for her to take the dredge Paritutu’s berth l . She will sail on the return trip at 8.20 p.m, WEST MAHWAH ARRIVES. The liner West Mahwah, from San Francisco via Wellington, arrived in the stream at 6.30 a.m. yesterday, and was anchored there to await the Wangaratta’s sailing. The West Mahwah is a vessel of 5586 tons, and is in command of Captain Cullen. She will berth at the wharf when the Wangaratta sails to-day. CARGO OF CEMENT. The Kamona arrived from Whangarei yesterday morning with 1400 tons of cement to discharge here. As all berthage at the wharf was takan up at the time of her arrival she anchored in the stream and will berth when the Flora sails to-day. THE WANGARATTA. It is toped to have completed the loading of the New Plymouth cargo on the Wangaratta to-day, when she will sail for Wanganui. Her berth will immediately be taken by the West Mahwah, now anchored in the stream. FLORA TO SAIL. The Flora, which is now in port with about 200 tons of Wellington cargo to discharge, will take in a quantity of southern cargo and sail to-day. UNION STEAM SHIP COMPANY. A Dunedin telegram states that the Marama arrived at Honolulu at 6 a.m. on Saturday from Suva, Auckland, and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on February 3. The Tahiti arrived at Raratonga at 7 a.m. on Saturday from San Francisco via ports, and sailed at 5 p.m. on Saturday for Wellington. She is due on the evening of the 27th, FROM PACIFIC SLOPE.
The Union Company announce that the steamer Wairuna is due to begin loading at Vancouver about February 10. Whilst the Walmarino is due to commence loading the first week in March. The company’s present intention is for both vessels to proceed from Vancouver to San Francisco. It is anticipated that the Wairuna will load for Wellington. Melbourne and Sydney, and the Walmarino for Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. -PALOONA TO RESUME. The Paloona, now being over!-'■•tiled at Port Chalmers, is to resume runniu,. in the Mel-bourne-New Zealand passenger service during the first week in February. MOBRAKI ARRIVES. The Union Company’s inter-colonial passenger steamer Moeraki from Sydney, arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon. The Moeraki will remain at Wellington until noon on Thursday, when she will sail for Sydney and Hobart. BELLBUCKLE FROM NEW YORK. The steamer Bellbuckle, which was loaded at New York by the U.S. and A. Line, berthed at Wellington on Saturday morning to discharge case oil and general cargo. The vessel left New York on December 15 and tad a fine and uneventful passage. Captain Smith is in command. SERVICE TO AUSTRALIA. A cable from London states that Mr. Illingworth, in reply to a deputation, confirmed the expectation that after January the Peninsular and Orient Companies would provide a fwtnightly service to Australia and occasional extra sailings at interVais.
