CRIPPLE WALKS AGAIN.
RATANA, THE FAITH-HEALER. AMAZING TARANAKI CASE. PARALYSIS OVERCOME. Among many reports or cures effect* ed by the faith-healing practised by Ratana, “the Maori miracle man,” a recent instance related concerns a Tara naki case, in which a boy, who was suf f ering from the effects of infantil. paralysis, is said to have recovered th< use of his limbs. The story, as given to a Daily News reporter, is just as amazing as many others told. The patient was the nine-year-old son of Mr. J. McNeil Adams, of Albert Road, and he had been unable to walk for seven years, despite medica.' treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Adams were persuaded by friends to seek Ratana’i advice, and about ten days ago made i journey to the village of Ratana, nea) Turakina. They were unable to see the Chie: personally, but were interviewed by on» of his private secretaries, a Native half caste, and it was explained that Ratant had so many Maori visitors that he was unable to consult any Europeans. H< wrote instructions, however, and thes< followed the lines of the faith-healinj doctrine which has gained some consid erable fame for Ratana. After acting on this advice, and visiting the church in company with the secretary, the boy was able to walk back to the railway siding and Ims been walking about evei since. Mr. Adams states that Colin it quite well and is daily getting strongei in the use of his legs. The letter from Ratana was as fol lows: “Trust in the Lord God and His power to heal, for all things are possible with God. Believe in Him with all your heart and soul; pray to him with a sincere, truthful, and reverent prayer. Appeal to your Lord God with an earnest, untiring and unwaning heart. Therefore repent that ye may receive His grace and blessing and whatsoever ye may ask of Him in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost and the Holy Angels. . Sanction His name and sing His .praise for evex and ever. Amen.—l Yours faithfully, T. W. Ratana.”
A postscript was added as follows: “Will pray to God to grant your re quest.”
