Judgment by default was given in the following cases in the New Plymouth Magistrate’s Court yesterday:--Robert Bu’l (Mr H. R. Billing) v. Percy Willing, £l6 2s 6d, costs £2 17s; M. Greig (Mr. Anderson) v. Albert Ward, £l2, costs £2 14s. In the Magistrate’s Court, New Plymouth, yesterday, decision was given by Mr. T. A. B. Bailey, S.M., in the case of A» J. Roakes v. W. J. Priar, a claim for possession of a tenement, which was heard the previous sitting. His Worship said he was satisfied that the property (part of which was used for business purposes) was not one that came within the Act, and although this was a case in which there was considerable hardship on defendant’s side the law was against him. His Worship made an order for possession to be given by March 14. At the hearing Mr. 11. R. Billing appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. A. A. Bennett for defendant. Land agents’ licenses were granted to the following at yesterday’s sitting of the New Plymouth Magistrate’s Court: —W. D. Linn, S. J. Jackson, F. W. EherleU and S. W. Lovegrove.
