ELTHAM.

(From Our OWn Correspondent.) January 18. The C.E.M.S. Club held its annual meeting on Mqnday evening. Jhe president, Mr. T. C. Stauners, was supported by a good attendance of membvra. The committee’s report and balancesheet, which were unanimously adopted, showed that the membership numbered 323, and the receipts in the billiard room amounted to over £4lB. The annual accounts showed a profit on the year of £lOO 5s Hd, and a very large surplus ci assets over liabilities. The president, in his address, stated that the club had had a most successful ■year but he would like to isee the ordinary members take a keener interest in the welfare of the club, and give encouragement to the committee in their efforts to make the club a success. He thanked the committee for the admirable manner in which they ha'd carried out their duties, specially mentioning the treasurer (Mr. G. W.. Bennett) and the secretary. (Mr. Primmer;. Officers’ were re-elected for the ensuing year as follows: —President, Mr. T. C. Stunners; vice-presidents, Rev,-J. G. Casth, Mr. W. G. Thorpe and Mr. G. W. Bennett; treasurer, Mr. G. W. Bennett. The election of committee resulted as follows: Messrs. J. Bootem.- IT. H. Judd, N. Dudley, J. Best, P. P. Marx, A. W ..Holder, and J. W. Harrison. At a committee meeting held immedL lately afterwards, Mr. Primmer was re[elected secretary.
