FALL OVER CLIFF.
MOTOR CAR’S TERRIBLE PLUNGE. MIRACULOUS ESCAPES. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Auckland, Last Night. A miraculous escape from serious injury took ■ place yesterday forenoon, when a party of Aucklanders motoring from Cornwallis to New Lynn were thrown over a cliff. The car was being driven by the owner, Arthur Thole, of Thole Bros., who had beeji holidaying at Cornwallis and was returning home. Shortly after setting out the vehicle got out of control, and before anything could be done, it dashed over a high cliff at the side of the road. The car turned three somersaults before crashing £b~the ground below. Thole and his two companions, Frank Needham and Hunter, were hurled into the air, fortunately all of them falling clear of the motor car, which was wrecked. None of the occupants had any bones broken, but all of them were badly bnX.ed and suffered from shock.
