SUBMARINE DREADNOUGHTS.
A GERMAN INVENTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Berlin, Jan. 16. Oswald Flamm, professor of marine architecture at Charlottenburg, claims the discovery of a new principle of stability, permitting the construction of armored submarines of the* size of dreadnoughts. There would b« no fear of their capsizing and they would be, capable of most rapid submersion, with a higher speed, and a greater radius of action than the existing types. Professor Flamm has completed the plans of a 5000-ton cruiser, with a speed of 25 knots, and is designing one of 10,000 tons. Krupp’s and Siemen’s are interesting themselves in the invention, which is patented throughout the world. •-Times.
