ALLEGED THEFT. By Taltgraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, Jan. 17. In the Police Court, William Henry Grant was committed for trial in the Supreme Court on a charge of theft of rings and money of a total value of £705 at Palmerston North, on December 11.

REPATRIATION EXPENDITURE Wellington, December 17. Interesting figures in regard to the work of the Repatriation Department were given to a Post representative today by the Minister in Charge of the Department. “Expenditure on repatriation,” said the Minister, “reached its maximum in December, 1919, in which month £120,000 was advanced to soldiers- Since then the expenditure has steadily decreased month by month, while the income from repayments of loans has increased steadily.
