SEASIDE FETE. At a well attended meeting of the Seaside Society on Friday evening arrangements in connection with the annual fete, to be held on the 19th inst., were furthered. Brunette has donated £5, making greater attractions A second prize of £2 and a third prize of £l, will be given for the treasure hunt, directions for which- will be given Biter. With such a valuable prize for the tug-of-war this event should prove a great draw, as also should the hop-atep-and-jump, the high jump, stepping the chain, nail-driving, and other competitions, liberal prizes being the order throughout. In addition there will be numerous events for children, sheep guessing competition, guessing beans in bottle, and last but not least a baby competition, which will be open to bab. ies of either sex up to the age of two years. The prize for the winning baby will be £1 deposited in the Savings Bank and the honor of being declared king or queen of the day. The entrance fee has been fixed at one shilling. It is now certain that many decorated cars, bicycles, and other novelties will take part and therefore the procession should ba a good one. Mr. C. R. Pease will act as marshall. In the evening a grand concert will be held in the Town Hall at which good outside performers will appear. At this function the winner of the baby competition will be crowned and presented with the prize. Given fine weather this year s fete should easily surpass the efforts of previous years, and to make it & huge success the assistance of all is requested. Luncheon and afternoon tea will be provided on the beach, and the Federal Band will render selections throughout the day.
