DECEMBER’S RECORD RETURNS REVENUE TOTALS £l6BB “The returns for the month are very satisfactory and surpass all other records,” states the report of the New Plymouth tramways manager (Mr. R. H. Bartley), on the working of the department for December. A very notable feature, was the entire freedom from accidents of any description, which are so apt to occur under the holiday traffic conditions. The increase in the revenue, as compared with December, 1919, is £447 10s 9d, the total fares earned being £l<>BB 13s. The amount earned on the Morley Street route, which is included in the total, was £97 2s sd. Passengers carried during the month totalled 156,824, of which 13,181 were on the Morley Street extension. The ’bus service shows an increase in revenue of £l4 6s 4d as compared with December, 1919, and has been maintained without interruption. The details are:-—Mileage run, 2178; passengers carried, Westown, 5675; Vogeltown, 37i88; Frankley Road, 548; special Aotea, 61.—Total, 10,072. The total revenue received was £lOB 4s lid.
