Weasels are causing a good deal of havoc among the poultry of some of the New Plymouth suburban residents. One night recently a weasel got into a fowlhouse and killed no fewer than seventeen fowls, whilst another fancier, living three miles away, lost thirteen out of nineteen in a single night. In another case a weasel attacked a fowl that was sitting in some scrub, and dragged it a distance of fifty yards towards its lair, and-piereed each egg, some of which were found several yards away from the nest. It wotfld seem that there must be a good many of these destructive rodents about the locality.
