AUCKLAND GAS SERVICE, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Coal for the relief of the gas shortage in Auckland should arrive in the city shortly. The steamship Kamo, with 1300 tons on hoard for the Gas Company, is expected to leave Westport to-night for ■ this port, and should arrive here on Thursday. Just as soon as the cargo is 'landed the Gas Company expects to be in a position to give an improved service. KAURI GUM INDUSTRY. Wellington, Last Night. The H<*. D. H. Guthrie left Wellington for Auckland to-day to preside at a conference to be held to decide upon the order of reference for the commission to enquire into all matters relating to the kauri gum industry.
